When planting a tree it's important to take the different factors that may affect the kind of tree you're planting into consideration. All aspects such as where it's going to get the most light or least if that be the requirement of the tree, what type of soil it may need etc. Below are some instructions to follow when planting your own tree:

• Firstly you will need to make sure you have the right kind of equipment to carry the work out this will consist of the following; spade, stake, string, mulch, water, gardening gloves and appropriate footwear. When you have all this equipment you can carry on with the process.
• You need to dig the hole the tree is going to sit in and making sure it is the right depth is essential because if it's not deep enough then it can cause the tree damage in some cases it can even result in the tree dieing. You want the distance to be at least that of the depth of the roots and a little more depending on the kind of tree usually around 5 cm's more.
• You then need to remove any packaging around the roots being careful not to damage them at all you then need to soak the roots with the water so they are all covered, this preparing them for planting.
• When completely wet separate the roots very carefully and adjust the hole accordingly, this meaning they are how they will sit in the hole.
• You will next need the help of another person to hold the tree upright in the hole while you cover the roots of the tree with the soil, making sure all holes are as well filled in as you can make them.
• Once all the roots are covered and you have reached the level ground you then need to pack down the soil using your foot making sure to press out any hole that may remain in the soil but not stepping too hard as to damage the tree.
• If the tree stands fairly limp you may need to insert a stake for support making sure the tree stands straight, all you need to do is insert the stake into the soil making sure it is sturdy then take the string and tie it around the tree and stake. You need to make sure this is done tightly but not too tight it might restrict the tree in any way.
• Then all that's left to do is rake around the area tidying the soil and then applying the mulch to the soil surrounding the tree.
